We use zero-knowledge encryption: secrets and file contents are encrypted in your browser to the personal identities of each asset's designated recipients before they reach our servers. For those contents we hold only ciphertext, public keys, and passphrase-wrapped identities, so we cannot decrypt them. Asset names, instructions, and other metadata are not encrypted.

We cannot recover it. Each person has their own personal vault identity protected by an unlock passphrase that only they know. Download your identity backup when you enroll and store it offline; it can decrypt your content without the passphrase. Never share your unlock passphrase or identity backup, not even with teammates. Other recipients of an asset, such as its Custodian or Successors, keep their own access.

Guardians are team members assigned roles on each asset. Custodians own the asset, Successors can gain access through approval or a time delay, and Gatekeepers can approve or deny access requests. Each person decrypts with their own identity, and nobody shares a team password.

You can store any sensitive information including passwords, API keys, certificates, documents, recovery codes, and more. All secret text and file contents are encrypted in your browser before transmission to our servers.
